Part of the experience of being with the boys I ride on Saturdays is also experiencing good food at preferred cafes and favourite food outlets. At the end of our usual beach road rides we have a preferred bakery to go to in Port Melbourne. Over the years a regular monthly last Saturday of the month event has been Belgium Beer Café Cycling Club. When I first started riding with my group it was at the St. Kilda Road venue There is still a website relating to this, but it has not been there for a couple of years. This venue had a good atmosphere and was more convenient to get to and leave your car near. For the last few years it has been at the Eureka Tower venue. There is little to no advertising of the cycle club on the current website. However still for a reasonable yearly fee once a month waffles, croissant, chocolate sauce, fruit, muesli, juice, coffee and tea are supplied in a smorgasbord setting. It is good, it is fun, it is tradition.
