I’m a Teaching Veteran — Not a Dinosaur

The article I’m a Teaching Veteran — Not a Dinosaur   via @zite makes some good points about not assuming older teachers in the articles case are not digitally competent or up with latest technologies.  A message we can apply within librarianship and apply to our patrons.  It also makes good points about mentoring, reverse mentoring,  and coaching younger teachers by older teachers.   We are not to assume older people are not digitally competent or up with latest technologies.  Similarly we should not assume digital literacy for younger people.  Also some good points are made about mentoring and coaching younger teachers by older teachers.  You can be older and vibrant!

interesting read, thanks for the link Graeme. As one who is what I’d call a veteran, I hold my own in the digital space. It’s important to have that dialogue (mentoring or otherwise) and not make assumptions about each other and our capacity… The more we net/work with each other, the more value we can add to the field…
